The Haps

Okay, so  I can't claim that title as my own. We have a monthly video at church in which they detail the happenings ("haps") at church for the month and it is entitled "The Haps." Well, here is what has been happening around here lately.

Jesstine had her first Christmas program at school last week. It was cute! I (like every OTHER parent there) decided it would be a good idea to get a picture of her in front of the pretty Christmas tree....which you can't see because it was so tall and up on a platform! Oh well!

They also had a manger scene set up at the end of the foyer. That made for a bit better of a background...but Jesstine looked better in front of the tree...

On a day that Sandra picked Jesstine up from school, she was behind some kids and they asked their mom if they could see the fairies before going home! These were the "fairies" above the manger scene! Hehe!

Emmitt is enjoying his baths a WHOLE lot more now! I found these "bath buddies" at the store and thought I would give them a try. It is essentially a large terry cloth fish that you get wet with warm water and place over the baby so he can retain some heat as you clean him. We also have a duck! It works WONDERS! Yes, you could basically accomplish the same thing with a washcloth, but this is a little larger so it works a little better!

Stephen and I went to his company party (no photos, sorry!) and they had a white elephant gift exchange. It was a bit odd because it seemed like we were the only ones that really got the "white elephant" part of it. We took a Hello Kitty McDonald's toy while others had some useful gadgets and things like a bottle of wine and this little LED Christmas tree that you plug into your computer or a USB port. I even "stole" it from someone because I thought Jesstine would like it. She did!

We got an "Elf on the Shelf" this year for Jesstine. My friends keep posting pictures of their elves doing naughty things. Our elf, Mangle, is a CLIMBER! He likes to find interesting places to watch Jesstine from each day. He flies back to the North Pole each night to report to Santa whether Jesstine has been a good girl or not (that's how the big guy knows who's been naughty or nice).

I wasn't able to put Emmitt's Cowboys clothing on him for the last two games for one reason or another and they lost. He is growing so fast and the season is almost over, so I decided I would work harder to try and make sure he is appropriately dressed for all future games. Isn't he just the cutest little Cowboy's fan you have ever seen?!

This is kinda naughty of Mangle! Like I said he is a climber, but we have a rule in the house that we aren't supposed to touch the blinds or the cords on the blinds!

Only a month old and he is trying to help hold his bottles!

Is it a productive tummy time when he falls asleep?

Jesstine is enjoying her bath paints that her friend Kylie got her for Christmas.

And the best part of this blog...I FINALLY caught a smile on camera! It was a challenge because as soon as the camera comes out he likes to look at the camera and can't concentrate on smiling! What a LOVELY smile!

In Him,
The Hutchins
