Pumpkin Painting

Tried to post this update 3 other times, but the photo uploader has been having problems. I guess this last time was a charm!

Here Jesstine and I are painting the pumpkins from the pumpkin patch.

Here is the finished product.
The pumpkin that Jesstine picked out for me had the name "Rene" on it. So after I painted this side, I painted the other too. Jesstine's is the one on the right.

Here is the other side of mine.

I had so much fun painting, that I even painted the other side of Jesstine's so that she could have a pumpkin too!
Well, tomorrow is Halloween, so if you stop by regularly, you may want to stop by in a few days. I also may be posting some pictures of a mini photo shoot that we are doing today of Jesstine in her costume! Stay tuned for more Halloween fun!!!!

Pumpkin Patch

This was two years ago. She slept through the car ride there and then again on the ride home. We woke her up enough to get a smile and that was it!
We didn't go to the pumpkin patch last year because she wasn't really walking well yet and I didn't know if she would enjoy it or not. This year was a WHOLE different story! I knew she would enjoy it and I knew she was old enough! To make it better, she was old enough that we didn't have to pay AS much! So, here are this year's pictures of our trip to the pumpkin patch.

We had to get gas on the way so here she is blending in with her car seat!

Her first hay rack ride. This was the way to get to the pumpkin patch.

As a part of it, they let us feed the goats.

Some of the goats were just a week old (the larger one on the blue steps in the middle). The smaller ones were just a day old! They were so cute! They mostly just slept though!

It didn't take Jesstine long to find the pumpkin she wanted. It was the first one that she could successfully pick up and carry! Believe me, she tried many others!

Here was the one she picked first. Later this one became mine and she found a slightly smaller one that she painted at home later.

Of course they had the pictures with the faces cut out!

Here we are together!

Ready to get back on the hay rack ride and hit the straw bale maze!

On the ride back it became very apparent that she was starting to get tired. What you can't see in this picture is that she is holding on to her pumpkin in her lap for dear life!

Strolling by the straw bale maze with her daddy!

Straw bale maze.

She was contemplating the slide. We were talking about whether she was big enough or not to go by herself or if I would have to go with her.

Just after that, she started to walk backwards and work her way back down to the ground level! I guess that answered our question.

They even had a cowcar train.

Once again we had to decide whether or not she would sit through it. And once again she decided for us! She sat for a picture and then wanted out!
We brought the pumpkins home and she went straight to bed! It was the first time in months that she was able to go down for a nap without one of us lying in bed with her! After her nap, we had a snack and watched Toy Story. Then it was time to paint the pumpkins! Pictures on that to come!!!

It's Been A While

So what have we been up to? Well, a little bit of everything. It seems though that the camera battery is almost always low or dead, so we haven't been taking many pictures. I guess it is a good thing that cell phones have built in cameras now. Although they aren't nearly as good, they work to capture those moments! So, here is a little of what we have been up to.

Just playing with her sunglasses! It was too cute! Kodak moment!

First day of school. Okay, so technically it's just music class and play group for Parents As Teachers. She had fun dressing up and getting ready to go though!

Playtime with her BFF (Best Friend Forever in case you aren't down with the lingo).

Playtime at Lila's house! It was really fun!

Found a princess crown at a garage sale. Goes great with Little Mermaid PJ's and her mardi gras beads! A few weeks after this we found her "magic wand" to use with it too! She loves going around saying "Bippy Boppy BOOOO!" (Bippity Boppity Boo from Cinderella.)

I have discovered how to keep her pigtails from going flat. While they are still wet, I pull them up straight and let them relax as they dry. Daddy gets a kick out of it!

Jesstine has recently discovered my iPod. She loves to do puzzles and I like the daily laptime that I don't often get with a busy toddler. If any of you are looking for some iPhone or iPod touch apps for toddlers, Tozzle: Toddler's Favorite Puzzle, Nick Jr's A to Z with Z and Moose, and Parents Magazine Flash cards are a few cheep or free ones that are educational.

It's that time of year again! I LOVE this picture! She is geared up for the Cowboys' game!

Love this one too!

Having some breakfast with her BFF!

Putting herself in Mommy's shoes....literally!

Playing at the park on a BEAUTIFUL day! The shirt is SO true! It says, "Daddy's under my spell!"

This weekend I went on a camping trip with some friends! It was a kind of Girl Scout reunion trip. Unfortunately, Jammie was unable to stay due to a migraine. And there was a little bit of a problem with a disgruntled husband. All in all, it was a lot of fun! This was the next morning after we had all had MAYBE 4 hours of sleep! We had to pack up quick because during the night my throat started to REALLY hurt and I knew that I needed to get to the doctor the next day!

We had a ripping campfire! We found a pretty good campsite! It was a bit noisy with road noise, but overall good campsite!

It is also time for hockey season! Jesstine has gone to hockey games since she was in the womb. We were worried last year that she would be intimidated by the noise. She seemed to do well! This year she seemed a little nervous at first. I think that it was a little more to do with the fact that our seats were on the end over a drop off.

This year they had a new addition to the mascot family. Thunder Pup! Jesstine really liked it!

Having fun now that she has her own chair to sit in!

Couldn't pass up a picture of this! I grabbed Stephen's hand and then we both grabbed hers absent mindedly!

On the way back to the van after the game! She was one tired girl, but really happy!

And here she is in her bed later that night with two of her new souvenirs, hockey duck ("Aunt Kim gave me!") and her fake hockey puck!
Life is good!!!!
