Swimming Fun with Cousins!

Today, we decided to take the kids to the pool to get some of their energy out! The water is still pretty cold so the littlest of the cousins did not stay in long. Here are a few shots of pool fun that I was able to capture!
J was trying out a new swim vest that I can slowly take the padding out of to help her become more independent at swimming (hopefully it will help her to be come less dependent on the vest at all). She needed the help of the noodle after I took two flotation pads out. We have a little work to do!
Connor didn't last long, but really enjoyed putting his feet in the water and splashing. Ian kept jumping in with his kick board!
I believe he was asking for the ball here! He is NOT imitating a monkey (even though it may appear so).
Noah was the best older brother/cousin. The two little ones, Jesstine and Connor, would throw the ball. Noah would chase it and then take turns passing it to them to throw again!
I was trying to get her to pose and got the "cheese" face! We haven't quite figured out why, but she puts her hands this way in a LOT of pictures! All girl I guess!

Stay tuned as there may be pictures of more cousin fun after each of them has had some rest!!!

Goin to a Weddin!

As mentioned in the last post, Mom, Jesstine and I attended the wedding of my cousin, Jason. We spent two nights in Harrisonville, MO. It was a relaxing trip, but I think it was safe to say that we were all ready to get home and sleep in our own beds! Jesstine's sleeping schedule was WAY off! Partially because she doesn't sleep in a moving vehicle very often. Partially because the wedding started just as nap should have been commencing. She did fairly well though! We also ended up going to bed an hour or two later than Jesstine typically goes to bed. I think she was REALLY ready to go home on Sunday morning because this girl ate a TON before we left! She had part of a waffle, half a banana, some fruit loops from the morning before (dry of course), and a half of a powdered cake donut! Needless to say, she had NO trouble taking a nap when we got home! Here are a few pictures from the trip!

I know I posted this in the last post, but I am posting it again in hopes that it can be clicked on and enlarged for certain grandparents that may want to copy and save it to their computers! I have no control over it though! Sometimes Blogger lets you enlarge pictures and sometimes it doesn't! This is her dress she wore to the wedding!

Here are the bride and groom shortly after being pronounced man and wife.

This is the whole reason Jesstine was SO excited to go to the "weddin." She really wanted some cake! The reception was held at a different location than the wedding, so as we walked out of the church she cried because she thought she was missing out on the wedding cake!

This was Jesstine on the morning that we left. She was OUT! I was able to get out of bed and read some and she stayed asleep the whole time! LOL! There were many interesting firsts on this trip that I got to experience since Jesstine is a little older than the last time we really traveled and stayed overnight anywhere. Firstly, it was the first trip since she has been potty trained. We had the "little potty" in the van in case of an emergency and we also brought her potty seat from home to sit on the hotel toilet. Worked like a charm! She did great! Still wore a pullup at night though! And here is why! Secondly, she really has outgrown the pack-n-play. Not to mention I don't think it is quite fair to put her in it when she sleeps in a "big girl bed" at home. So we purposely got two queen beds so that Jesstine could share a bed with one of us (me). I put the pillows on the other side of her so that she wouldn't fall off! It was a little cramped, but we did well! The pullup was so that she wouldn't pee the bed with me in bed with her! I don't think I would have been very happy if that had happened! No worries though! She is a true big girl and a great traveler! I couldn't have asked for better companions than Mom and Little J!

And of course, congratulations to Jason and Kelli on starting a new life together!

Big Girl!

Just thought I would share a special moment I had with Jesstine today! We have just returned from a weekend trip to see my cousin, Jason, get married. Jesstine was a SUPER good girl on the trip especially considering she didn't have a nap for two days and went to bed 1 to 2 hours late both nights! Today after her nap, she disappeared. I heard this little voice from somewhere back near the hallway. I went back to check on her and she was on the potty in the dark and she had done this all by herself! A little while later, she had a snack of Cars the movie fruit gummies and milk. She decided she needed to wash her hands. I asked if she needed help and she didn't answer. I heard the water turn on and a few moments later turning back off. I went in to check on her and she had washed her hands all by herself!! I had to help her dry them. As I was drying her hands, I asked her when she got to be such a big girl. She quickly replied with, "Because I gonna to be three soon!" What a sweet girl. Here she is in her dress for the wedding!

P.S. One of Jesstine's favorite parts of the trip was getting to ride the "elegator" up and down from our room at the hotel!

Baby Update

Not really much to report, but that will change in a couple of weeks! We had our regular monthly OB appointment today. He was actually surprised that we had gone a whole month this time without seeing him! Hehe! I felt pretty good about that! Baby seems to be doing well. He/she had a heart rate of about 150ish. I have been feeling movement quite a bit lately. I think it is safe to say I can feel it at least once a day. Today they did the blood test to check for downs and spina bifida. The nice thing is that our insurance just switched so the doctor can do all of that stuff in his office now! We also set up a date to get the first big ultrasound done. We will be having that on June 20, the day after Father's day! I am excited! Ready to see if I need to buy more blue or hang on to my pink clothes! Doctor noticed that I have not gained any weight. Well, part of that is because this time (as with the other two times) I lost 4 lbs. in the first trimester. I have managed to gain one of those back, so I am only down 3 lbs. now! He said that he suspects that he will see that drastically increase by the time he sees me a gain for the next appointment. I also mentioned to him that I had been having some cramping lately. He said that it is perfectly normal to have it pretty often being that it is my 3rd pregnancy to reach this point. He said it is just because my body is having to grow and stretch again and it just gets more and more tired of it each time. That was reassuring! I also still have a doppler at my house from when I was expecting Jesstine. I try and limit myself to listening to the baby one time a day (which is okay according to the doctor) because with Jesstine, I would listen more often and freak myself out! So, hopefully in a couple more weeks we can post a little photo montage of Baby Hutchins 3!! Prayers are still welcome! I am for the most part still doing well emotionally, but sometimes I really struggle and worry quite a bit. Still not quite even halfway there. Wishing I was even closer! I feel more in control when I have an infant than when I am pregnant just waiting for the baby to get here!! And thank you for those continuing prayers!

Jesstine has a best friend named Kylie. She has been mentioned a lot on this blog. Well, they haven't seen each other for over three weeks. Kylie went with her mommy and brother to her grandparents' house in South Dakota for a couple of weeks and for a full week before that, we were unable to get together to play. These girls asked about each other on a daily basis! So when they were finally reunited this morning, I had a song from one of my favorite childhood movies going through my head. The movie is Annie and the song is "I Don't Need Anything But You." The words are:
Together at last! Together forever!
We're tying a knot, they never can sever!
I don't need sunshine now to turn my skies to blue!
I don't need anything but you!

They had the most fun on the trampoline playing "tag" such as it is with two toddler girls! LOL! It was filled with a lot of giggling!

You can just see the joy on their faces!

And check out these cute little girls playing the classic game, "Ring Around The Rosie!" This is the version they learned in music class. They did this at least three times!

Butterflies and Funny Trees

Today we took flowers to the graves of my grandparents and Babe B. Last year, Jesstine was just old enough to kind of help with putting flowers out for Babe B. So when we picked out flowers, she picked out a little blue butterfly on a long thin wire to add to the flowers. This year we did the same thing and she picked a purple butterfly which went great with the purple flowers we picked! She is starting to ask questions and you can see she is trying really hard to understand what Memorial Day is really about. Just before we left for the cemeteries, she proudly exclaimed, "We are going to go see Babe B. and be with Jesus!!!" (We have told her that Babe B. is with Jesus.) We all had to snicker at her remark! After placing flowers for Babe B., we headed to the part of Kansas not far from where I was born and where my mother grew up. Jesstine surprisingly really enjoyed the trip to the cemetery out where my grandparents are buried. She had some open space to run and laugh. Her favorite thing though had to be the "funny trees." The cemetery is full of these well manicured trees. She LOVED them and had to go and touch all of them that she could! I love her innocence and her zest for life! It made a seemingly sad event a little more joyful! Here are her "funny trees!"
