Birthday Fun Part 2: The Pirate Parrrrty!

And now for the parrrrty! Jesstine had a blast and was so stinkin' tired by the end of the day! There were a LOT of people who came to support her for her birthday! It was nice to see how many people other than myself and Stephen love this little girl! Here is a little idea of the party scene!

Pirate Booty! (party favors)

"Okay, where's my cake already?!"

The "kid table."

I gave the guests their pirate booty bags thinking that they would appreciate opening their own gifts while Jesstine opened hers. Umm, not so much! It was difficult for her daddy to even get a single picture of what she was opening....or see for himself for that matter.

A Cinderella coach with horses, mice, and even a fairy godmother! Thank you Rainbow, Konrad and Kristina!
A Shockers' cheerleading dress. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Griffee.
Some word and counting puzzles and this came with a dress, some CHOCOLATE (she screamed it out when she opened the card), and a "Hungry Hungry Caterpillar" (Very Hungry Caterpillar) card! Thank you Johnna and Kara!!!
An Ariel dress, handbag, necklace, ring and gloves! Thank you Aunt Grace, Uncle Murray, Conrad, Lexi, and Charis! (They traveled from Oklahoma just to be here for my birthday celebration!)
A real camera from Aunt Jenni, Uncle Seth, Noah, Ian and Connor! This was in a box on the doorstep when we got back from seeing Ariel. (I put it in a bag for her so she would have more fun opening it!)
Puzzles from Mommy and Daddy.
A book and an Aquadoodle from her best friend Kylie (also Kelly, Matt and Carter).
All of her party guests!

Some of the kids dressed as a pirate using the decorations from the table as well as their eye patch from their goodie bags! This is my niece, Charis. She is a month and a half younger than Jesstine!
This is my other niece, Lexi (Alexis).

Jesstine's best friend, Kylie (who turned three a few weeks ago).

This is Loyd a little guy that we sit behind at hockey games. He came with Auntie Kim, Bridget, and Bryan (friends of the family).

And of course the birthday girl!

A few kids even played pin the eye patch on the pirate. Even Daddy got in on this one! Well, sort of!
The calm after the storm! (I forgot to take a close up of the decorations on the vertical blinds in the back ground! There is a world map shower curtain with a pirate flag banner across the top!)

Stay tuned again for photos from the actual day of Jesstine's birthday as well as an update on who she is at the age of three!

Birthday Fun Part 1

Today was the day that Jesstine has been waiting for since we found out about it two months ago! Today we got to meet Ariel and her friends! Jesstine was super excited. But it was short lived. When the time came, excitement turned to overwhelmed almost the moment we stepped in the doors! I am so thankful that Kylie and her family decided to join us! If it weren't for Kylie's assertiveness, Jesstine would have sat at the table eating goldfish crackers and drinking strawberry HiC the entire hour! (This is of course kind of a role reversal for these two little girls. Last year at Jesstine's birthday party, Kylie spent almost half of the time just watching everyone else play instead of playing along! See HERE.)As it was, Kylie did go with us and they both really had a great time!

Walking into the doors at "Under the Sea."
The tables were decorated with inflatable beach toys. Really cute idea.
This is the actual boat that is used in the Lagoon scene in the theater production of "The Little Mermaid." Wichita is one of three venues in the entire country that have the rights to put on this show this year!
This is one of Scuttle's seagull friends. Notice the look on Jesstine's face! Really, she is saying cheese! She initiated contact with this particular character whereas Kylie initiated all of the other events!
This was cute. Both girls squinted the eye that they were supposed to be looking through the telescope with!

King Triton's throne!
Perfect example of something Jesstine just would NOT do....that is until she saw how much fun Kylie was having doing it! LOL!

Later in the van I asked Jesstine what her favorite part of the whole thing was. She said, "I got to go fishin'!!!"
She caught a mermaid with dark brown hair.....

And Kylie caught a blond one! LOL! (That is the opposite of each other!)
Showing off their catches of the day!
Kelly is trying to coax Jesstine into dancing.
Now she has it!
At the very end, we managed to catch (no pun intended) Flounder for a photo opp! (This little girl is 10 and did a PHENOMINAL job!)
Again, she isn't terrified. She is saying cheese!
And again she is MUCH more confident when Kylie showed up!

Stay tuned for the pictures of her Pirate Parrrrrrty!

3 year-old Picture (Peek)

A few months ago, a facebook friend of mine mentioned that she could really use some more clients to take photos of. I knew that Jesstine's 3rd birthday was fast approaching and it was time to get some pictures taken. I figured I could help out a friend and get Jesstine's 3 year-old photos done at the same time. Well, I can't say I was optimistic when I left the photo shoot. It didn't have anything to do with the photographer. It was Jesstine! She wouldn't get her picture taken without saying, "CHEESE" and giving the cheese face....the ENTIRE time! My photographer friend later told me that it was a normal three year-old thing and she sees it quite often! I guess she was able to get a few decent shots though! Here is a little peek. There will be more to come. If you download pictures from my site, hold off because these will have the "fresh takes" watermark on them. Let me know either in the comments here what you want and what size or email me and I will get the real thing to you as soon as I have them. This is just a sneak peek!
(This is the shirt and the bow that she will hopefully be wearing at her "Pirate Party" on Saturday. I special ordered the shirt on Etsy and My bow lady, HERE, made the bows as per my special request as well!)

Birthday Month

Well, we celebrated the first of 3 birthdays in August yesterday! It was Stephen's birthday. After prodding him all week asking what he wants, he wouldn't say. So this is what he got:

A "Castle Crashers" birthday card, designed by me and decorated by Jesstine.
(In case you don't know, this is a game that she LOVES to play with Daddy on the Xbox. She is pretty much obsessed!)

And a cake. I almost took it back because not only did I notice it had worms on TOP of it, Stephen cut into it and even the INSIDE was infested with worms! LOL! Jesstine had already said she thought Daddy needed an M&M cake from Freddy's, but they didn't have any when we went to eat dinner there last night with Papa, so she chose the worm infested cake instead! Daddy ate around the worms, but Jesstine was glad to have a couple of them!

Happy birthday Stephen!!
